The FunnyPlaying Q5 IPS display provides an approximately 25% larger display area than the original screen, with backlighting and improved viewing angles. It makes the picture easier to see in everyday indoor lighting while retaining the games’ original visual content. Adjustable brightness allows you to choose a comfortable setting, and the available screen effects provide different ways to present the pixel artwork.

Display controls also allow you to customise the illuminated Game Boy Color logo. The grey lens surround and coloured logo complement the DMG-inspired housing, while the familiar button layout keeps the console straightforward to use. The display’s touch-sensitive controls are used for settings; games continue to use the original physical controls.

4. Switch on the console and adjust the volume to a comfortable level.

6. Save through the game’s own save function where available, then switch off before removing the cartridge.

Connection & Control Troubleshooting

Game Does Not Start Or The Nintendo Logo Appears Corrupted: Switch off, remove the cartridge and reinsert it securely. Test another known-working compatible cartridge to help distinguish a cartridge issue from a console fault.

Game Does Not Retain Saves: Check whether the game supports saving and whether the cartridge’s save battery or memory requires attention. The console’s rechargeable battery does not maintain cartridge saves.

Screen Looks Too Dark Or The Picture Effect Has Changed: Check the brightness and selected display effect. Different effects can change the apparent brightness and pixel presentation.

Controls Adjust The Screen Instead Of The Game: Exit the screen-settings mode before returning to gameplay. Follow the supplied screen-control guidance if the menu remains active.

No Sound From The Speaker: Check the volume wheel and disconnect any headphones. If sound remains absent, contact Retrolize.

This Nintendo Game Boy Color IPS Rechargeable 1800mAh – DMG Edition is covered by a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty from delivery against manufacturing defects and hardware faults arising during normal use.

Coverage includes eligible faults affecting the fitted screen, buttons and controls, internal audio components, rechargeable battery, charging system and power operation.

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, misuse, damaged connectors, excessive strain placed on the charging connection, incorrect charging, unauthorised repairs or modifications, or faults caused by incompatible accessories. Cosmetic damage arising during use, theft and loss are not covered.
