N64 HDMI Adapters For Modern Televisions

Connect your Nintendo 64 to a compatible HDMI display using its existing Nintendo MultiAV connection, without installing an internal HDMI modification.

The BitFunx 720p HDMI adapter and upscaler provides fixed 720p output with selectable 4:3 and 16:9 display modes. Its aluminium housing connects through an integrated console lead, and a 1.5-metre HDMI cable is included.

For a compact direct-fit option, the BitFunx Mini HDMI adapter connects directly to the console’s AV port. It offers 1080p output in 4:3 mode or 720p in 16:9 mode, with an HDMI cable supplied separately.

Both adapters draw power from the console and carry stereo audio over HDMI. They use S-Video where a compatible signal is available, with composite fallback. Available signals vary between console regions and hardware revisions.

Choose 4:3 to avoid stretching the picture across a widescreen display. HDMI conversion provides a modern connection, but it does not remove all of the N64’s characteristic softness or create additional detail in the original graphics.

N64 Upscalers, Line Doublers & RGB SCART

An external video processor provides another route to HDMI, particularly when you want adjustable picture controls or equipment that can serve several retro consoles.

The RetroScaler2x AV to HDMI converter and line doubler accepts compatible composite and S-Video connections, doubling 240p to 480p and 288p to 576p. It does not accept RGB SCART directly or upscale to 1080p. Use a console-appropriate cable and a display that accepts the resulting output, including 576p/50Hz for suitable PAL sources.

The RetroScaler GBS-Control Pro offers compatible composite and S-Video inputs alongside RGB SCART and other analogue connections. Selectable output modes up to 1080p, adjustable picture controls and saveable profiles provide more flexibility. Check its connection requirements, including the separate 3.5mm stereo audio output.

For an appropriately RGB-modified console, our premium fully shielded N64 RGB SCART cable carries RGB video and stereo audio to compatible equipment. It uses CVBS sync, so the console’s modification must provide RGB and a compatible composite-video sync signal.

The cable can form part of a suitable BitFunx OSSC V1.8 setup, providing configurable line multiplication and picture controls. Higher output modes depend on display compatibility.

An RGB SCART cable does not add RGB output to an unmodified N64. The OSSC also does not accept standard composite or S-Video directly. Match the processor to the signal your console actually supplies, and explore our upscalers and HDMI adapters for further options.

N64 Replacement Power Supplies & USB-C Power

Replace a missing or unreliable original power brick with our Nintendo 64 replacement mains power supply. Designed for 230V UK mains, it includes a fitted UK three-pin plug and connects directly to the console’s original rear power socket.

It supports compatible PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J consoles on suitable UK mains. For imported Japanese or North American hardware, this replaces the original 100–120V power brick and removes the need to retain that brick with a separate step-down transformer.

The Nintendo 64 USB-C power supply offers a compact alternative. This external adapter replaces the original brick without console disassembly or soldering.

The USB-C model requires a PD charger explicitly supporting 12V / 3A and a suitable USB-C to USB-C cable, both supplied separately. Check the charger’s output profiles: a high headline wattage alone does not establish compatibility.

Neither power option changes the console’s region, video standard or game compatibility.

N64 Controller Repair Parts & Refurbished Originals

Choose repair components according to the problem with your controller. A replacement N64 analogue stick provides an option for replacing a worn stick assembly, while our Nintendo 64 silicone button contact pad kit replaces the internal membranes beneath the buttons and directional pad.

Worn membranes can affect button return and contact reliability. Replacing them does not repair an analogue-stick mechanism or resolve unrelated circuit-board faults.

For a complete controller, our refurbished original Nintendo NUS-005 controllers retain the familiar three-grip design. Each is cleaned, refurbished and tested, with replacement silicone pads and an aftermarket analogue stick fitted as part of the restoration.

Wireless N64 Controllers & BlueRetro Bluetooth Adapters

The Retro-Bit Tribute64 V2 wireless controller provides a complete rechargeable controller package with a two-grip layout, four dedicated C buttons and included N64 and USB receivers.

Its dedicated 2.4GHz connection uses the supplied receiver. On the N64 receiver, a switch selects built-in rumble or support for a separately supplied compatible Controller Pak. Memory and Rumble modes do not operate simultaneously.

If you already own a supported Bluetooth controller, the BlueRetro Nintendo 64 Bluetooth controller adapter connects it to an original N64 controller port without modifying the console. Remappable controls and configurable analogue settings help adapt compatible modern controllers to N64 games.

BlueRetro also provides a virtual Controller Pak with four selectable 32KB save banks, totalling 128KB. One bank is available at a time, and compatible tools allow saves to be backed up and restored. Rumble Pak emulation is available with supported controllers and games as a separate mode.

Each BlueRetro adapter supports one wireless controller, so each player using this option needs an adapter. Read our N64 BlueRetro receiver review for more detail.

N64 Replacement Shells & Console Restoration

Refresh damaged or worn exterior plastics with our Nintendo 64 premium ABS replacement shells. Choose solid Black or translucent Purple and Blue, with matching plastic components and a front logo supplied across the range.

Installation involves transferring the console’s existing electronics, shielding and internal fittings. Retain the original console screws for reassembly; replacement screws and a printed installation manual are not included.

The supplied universal cartridge-slot assembly accommodates US and Japanese cartridge shapes. This changes their physical fit, but does not change the console’s electronic region compatibility.

A replacement Nintendo 64 Jumper Pak restores the standard configuration for a console used without an Expansion Pak. A Jumper Pak does not add RAM, and Controller Pak save storage cannot replace an Expansion Pak where software requires additional system memory.

SummerCart64 Flash Cartridges & 64DD Emulation

Explore compatible N64 software and homebrew with the SummerCart64 Elite 6TG and SummerCart64 4TG flash cartridge.

Both listings include a preconfigured 16GB microSD card and provide microSD-based software loading, automatic save handling and hardware-level 64DD emulation for compatible software.

The Elite 6TG includes USB-C connectivity for supported data-transfer and development functions. The listed 4TG version has no USB data interface and does not support user updates to its cartridge firmware; files are managed through its removable microSD card.

Additional software and hardware requirements still apply. A flash cartridge does not replace an Expansion Pak or upgrade the console’s video output. Our SummerCart64 and 64DD guide explains the capabilities and limitations in more detail.
