Upgrade & Restore The Original Nintendo Game Boy

Modernise an original Nintendo Game Boy DMG-01 with carefully selected IPS display, USB-C charging and rechargeable power upgrades.

This collection is specifically for the original full-size Game Boy DMG-01, commonly known as the brick Game Boy. These parts are not intended for the Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Light, Game Boy Advance or Game Boy Advance SP.

Complete IPS Screen & USB-C Shell Conversion

For a straightforward full rebuild, choose our Game Boy DMG-01 IPS display and USB-C rechargeable shell conversion kit.

The pre-assembled kit combines a 2.6-inch Highspeedido Q5 IPS display, IPS-ready Classic Grey shell, screen driver board, controls and a rechargeable 3000mAh USB-C battery system. Simply transfer a compatible original DMG-01 motherboard into the supplied assembly, with no soldering or shell trimming required.

The original motherboard is required and is not included.

Giltesa USB-C Charging Mod PRO

Experienced builders creating a custom IPS-equipped Game Boy can choose the Giltesa Game Boy DMG USB-C Charging Mod PRO.

This advanced internal modification combines USB-C charging, protected Li-ion battery support, stable 5V power conversion, safe charge-and-play operation and an integrated audio amplifier on one purpose-built board.

Installation requires soldering, shell modification and additional components. A compatible Li-ion battery, IPS display, speaker and installation tools are not included. The board is designed for 5V IPS displays and does not provide the −19V supply required by the original Game Boy LCD.

Choosing The Right DMG-01 Upgrade

Choose the complete IPS and USB-C shell conversion kit when you want the simplest route to rebuilding a Game Boy around an existing original motherboard.

Choose the Giltesa USB-C Charging Mod PRO when creating a more customised IPS build and you have the tools and experience required for soldering, shell modification and component installation.

Every product in this collection is designed for the original Nintendo Game Boy DMG-01. A compatible donor motherboard or console is required and is not included unless explicitly stated in the individual listing.

These are installation components rather than complete consoles. Incorrect fitting can damage the upgrade and original hardware, so advanced modifications should only be attempted with suitable tools and experience.

Products include a 12-month Retrolize warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware faults arising during normal use. Installation damage, incorrectly fitted components and damage to customer-supplied hardware are not covered.
