SUPER NINTENDO / SUPER FAMICOM PARTS, MODS & UPGRADES

Bring your original Super Nintendo or Super Famicom into your current gaming setup with HDMI adapters, RGB SCART cables, video upscalers, wireless controllers and Bluetooth receivers from Retrolize. Connect to a compatible modern television, improve your analogue video connection or enjoy wireless control while keeping your original console at the heart of the experience.

Our SNES and Super Famicom parts, mods and upgrades collection includes accessories from BitFunx, RetroScaler and 8BitDo, with options for straightforward HDMI connections, configurable video processing and familiar Super Nintendo controls.

SNES HDMI Adapters For Modern Televisions

Connect your original SNES or Super Famicom to a compatible HDMI display through its Nintendo MultiAV connection, without installing an internal HDMI modification.

The BitFunx 720p HDMI adapter and upscaler combines an aluminium housing and integrated console lead with fixed 720p output. Selectable 4:3 and 16:9 modes let you choose the display format, and a 1.5-metre HDMI cable is included. Choose 4:3 to avoid stretching the picture across a widescreen display.

For a smaller direct-fit option, the BitFunx Mini HDMI adapter connects directly to the console’s AV port. Its output switches between 1080p in 4:3 mode and 720p in 16:9 mode. An HDMI cable is required separately.

Both adapters use S-Video where the console supplies a compatible signal, with composite fallback. They carry stereo audio over HDMI and draw power from the console. These are S-Video/composite conversion options; an RGB setup requires a suitable RGB cable and compatible display or video processor.

RGB SCART Cables For SNES & Super Famicom

Make use of the RGB output available from compatible full-size consoles with our premium fully shielded SNES and Super Famicom RGB SCART cable. RGB carries the colour channels separately, providing cleaner colour separation and sharper edges than composite video on suitable equipment.

This cable uses CVBS sync, also known as sync-on-composite. The picture remains RGB; the composite signal supplies synchronisation.

Connect it to a compatible RGB SCART television or an RGB-capable upscaler for HDMI output. Check the cable’s listed console requirements, including region and any existing modifications. A matching MultiAV connector alone does not establish compatibility.

SNES Upscalers, RGB To HDMI & Line Doublers

An external video processor gives you more choice over connections and picture presentation, and can also serve other compatible retro consoles.

The BitFunx OSSC V1.8 offers configurable line multiplication, scanlines and sampling controls for a suitable SNES RGB connection. Stereo audio can travel through HDMI. Higher multiplication modes depend on the connected display accepting the resulting timings, and the OSSC does not accept standard composite video or S-Video directly.

The RetroScaler GBS-Control Pro provides RGB SCART alongside other analogue inputs, selectable output modes up to 1080p, adjustable picture controls and saveable profiles. Its motion-adaptive deinterlacing also supports compatible interlaced sources. Check the listing’s connection guidance, including its separate 3.5mm stereo audio output, when planning your setup.

For a compatible composite or S-Video connection, the RetroScaler2x AV to HDMI converter and line doubler doubles 240p to 480p and 288p to 576p. It does not accept RGB SCART directly or upscale to 1080p. PAL setups require a display that accepts the resulting 576p/50Hz output. A Micro USB power cable is included; the console video cable, HDMI cable and suitable USB power source must be supplied separately.

8BitDo SN30 Wireless Controllers

Enjoy the familiar Super Nintendo button layout without a controller cable stretching across the room. The 8BitDo SN30 2.4G wireless controller for original SNES and Super Famicom combines rechargeable wireless play with an included receiver that connects to the original controller port.

This is a complete controller-and-receiver option using a dedicated 2.4GHz connection. It works with its matching receiver and does not pair with a BlueRetro Bluetooth adapter. Choose the original-console version for compatible SNES and Super Famicom hardware; the SNES Classic Mini uses a different controller connection.

BlueRetro SNES Bluetooth Controller Adapters

Use a supported Bluetooth controller with your original console through the BlueRetro SNES and Super Famicom Bluetooth controller adapter. The receiver plugs into the original controller port and draws power from the console, with no internal modification required.

Compatible options include selected PlayStation, Bluetooth-enabled Xbox, Nintendo and 8BitDo controllers, subject to the product’s compatibility guidance. Button assignments can be adjusted through BlueRetro Web Config.

One adapter supports one wireless controller, so each wireless player needs a separate adapter. The controller is supplied separately. This provides an alternative for using a compatible Bluetooth controller you already own, while the SN30 set supplies its own controller and dedicated receiver.

Choosing Compatible SNES & Super Famicom Accessories

Check your console’s model, region and available video output before choosing an accessory. Full-size PAL SNES, NTSC SNES and Japanese Super Famicom systems can have different cable requirements.

Unmodified SNES Jr and Super Famicom Jr consoles require an RGB restoration modification before using an RGB SCART setup. These later original-hardware models are also different from the SNES Classic Mini and Super Famicom Classic Mini.
