Restore, customise and modernise your original console with our range of Sega Saturn parts, mods and upgrades. Explore HDMI adapters, RGB SCART cables, retro gaming upscalers, SAROO SD loading, replacement power supplies, wireless controllers and Bluetooth adapters for original Saturn hardware.
Whether you are connecting your Saturn to a modern television, reducing reliance on its ageing disc drive or adding wireless controls, this collection brings together practical upgrades for different setups. Choose straightforward external accessories or plan an internal power-supply replacement, with compatibility information to help you select the right parts.
Sega Saturn HDMI Adapters
Connect your console to a compatible modern display with the BitFunx 1080p HDMI Adapter & Upscaler For Sega Saturn. It connects directly to the Saturn’s AV port and converts the console’s S-Video signal and stereo audio into HDMI, without opening or modifying the console.
The adapter supports original Model 1 and Model 2 Saturn consoles, including PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J hardware. Its built-in scaler produces a 1080p HDMI output, while the aspect-ratio switch provides a choice of 4:3 or 16:9. Select 4:3 to retain the original proportions of most Saturn games; 16:9 stretches the existing picture.
Separate 5V Micro-USB power is required. A USB power cable is included, while a suitable USB power source and HDMI cable are required separately.
This provides a convenient Saturn-to-HDMI connection using the console’s analogue S-Video output. Upscaling changes the output resolution but does not add detail to the original game graphics.
Sega Saturn RGB SCART Cables
For an RGB-compatible CRT television or external video processor, our Premium Sega Saturn RGB SCART Cable carries the console’s native RGB picture and stereo audio through a EuroSCART connection.
Separate red, green and blue video signals provide cleaner colour separation than standard composite video. The cable uses 24 AWG copper conductors, foil and mesh shielding, and a ferrite core to help protect the picture and sound from interference.
This model uses CVBS sync, also called sync-on-composite. Composite video supplies the synchronisation information while the picture itself travels through the separate RGB channels. It supports compatible PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J Saturn hardware.
Pair it with a display or processor that accepts 15kHz RGB through EuroSCART. A SCART socket alone does not guarantee RGB support, and Japanese JP21 connections use a different pinout.
OSSC, GBS-Control & RetroScaler2x Upscalers
A separate video processor provides additional picture controls and can serve several compatible retro consoles in the same setup. The correct choice depends on your console cable, preferred processing and display compatibility.
The BitFunx OSSC V1.8 Open Source Scan Converter accepts the Saturn’s RGB output through a suitable SCART cable. Its low-latency line multiplication, adjustable scanlines and sampling controls provide extensive control over the image. Higher output modes depend on the connected display, and games that change resolution can cause a temporary blank screen while the equipment resynchronises. Composite video and S-Video are not accepted directly.
The RetroScaler GBS-Control Pro offers RGB SCART input, selectable HDMI output resolutions and motion-adaptive deinterlacing for supported interlaced video. Its scaling and picture controls make it useful for a mixed-console setup. Account for the listed model’s separate 3.5mm stereo audio output when planning your sound connection.
For a compatible Saturn composite or S-Video cable, the RetroScaler2x AV To HDMI Converter & Line Doubler provides another connection route. It line-doubles 240p to 480p and 288p to 576p, and converts supported interlaced sources into progressive output. Stereo audio travels through HDMI. It does not accept RGB SCART or upscale to 1080p.

SAROO SD Loading, Save Management & RAM Expansion
The SAROO HDLoader Elite Version 64GB provides cartridge-based SD loading for original Sega Saturn hardware. It fits into the console’s cartridge slot, allowing compatible software to load from memory-card storage while retaining the internal CD drive.
Our package includes a 64GB SanDisk Ultra card and is supplied with SAROO v0.9 firmware. SAROO supports BIN/CUE game images, FAT32 and exFAT storage formats, and built-in 1MB and 4MB RAM expansion functionality for compatible Saturn titles.
The firmware also provides virtual memory cards and save management, allowing saves to be exchanged between virtual storage and the Saturn’s internal backup memory through the save-management interface. Game cover artwork can be displayed in the menu when the appropriate artwork files are installed.
Additional features include booting compatible CD-R software through a working Saturn CD drive and CD+G audio-image playback from correctly prepared files. The SAROO interface can be operated using a controller connected to either player port, while v0.9 adds fast-forward and rewind during CD playback alongside controller and firmware fixes.
Loading supported software from storage reduces reliance on the original disc-reading mechanism and can shorten loading times. Compatibility depends on the game, firmware and configuration, so check the individual listing and relevant compatibility information for the titles you intend to use.
The external cartridge format avoids the internal drive-removal work associated with replacement optical drive emulators. It also occupies the Saturn’s cartridge slot, which should be considered when planning a setup around other cartridge accessories.
SaturnPSU Replacement Power Supplies
Replace ageing power hardware with the SaturnPSU Rev2.0 Power Supply. This upgrade replaces the original internal PSU board and operates from the supplied external 12V 3A adapter, moving mains conversion outside the console.
The replacement retains the Saturn’s original power-button operation and can be used in suitable standard or modified console builds. The package includes the internal board, external power adapter and UK, EU, US and AU plug options.
Installation requires opening the Saturn and replacing its existing power board. Check the fitting instructions and required configuration against your console revision before installation. Use an experienced installer if you are unfamiliar with working around console power hardware.
Retro-Bit Saturn Pro Wireless Controllers
The Retro-Bit SEGA Saturn Pro 2.4G Wireless Controller provides a complete wireless controller package with an included Saturn receiver. Its officially licensed design combines the familiar six-button layout and circular directional pad with Hall effect analogue sticks and a rechargeable battery.
The dedicated 2.4GHz connection works through the supplied receiver, which connects to an original Saturn controller port. Standard digital operation supports conventional controls, while compatible 3D Control mode allows the left analogue stick to provide analogue movement in supported Saturn games.
A separate USB receiver is also included for compatible modern systems. Features depend on the connected platform: the right analogue stick and rumble functions do not provide those capabilities on original Saturn hardware.
BlueRetro Bluetooth Controller Adapters
Use a supported controller you already own with the BlueRetro Sega Saturn Bluetooth Controller Adapter. This receiver connects directly to a Saturn controller port and takes its power from the console, without a separate power supply or internal modification.
Supported options include selected PlayStation, Bluetooth-enabled Xbox, Nintendo and third-party controllers. Compatibility depends on the exact controller and operating mode, so check the product listing before choosing your pad.
BlueRetro provides Saturn 3D Control Pad emulation, with digital and analogue modes, configurable button mapping and browser-based configuration. Analogue operation requires compatible games, and titles that do not support the original 3D Control Pad may not work correctly.
A controller is purchased separately, and each wireless controller requires its own adapter. This makes BlueRetro an alternative to a complete controller-and-receiver package when you want to use an existing compatible Bluetooth pad.
From a straightforward HDMI connection to SD loading, replacement power and wireless controls, explore upgrades suited to your original Sega hardware.
