Original Xbox HDMI Adapters for Modern TVs

The BitFunx Original Xbox Component To HDMI Adapter connects directly to the console’s AV port and converts its YPbPr component-video signal into HDMI. It is powered by the Xbox and includes a 1.5-metre HDMI cable, making it a convenient option for a compatible television or monitor.

The adapter preserves the video resolution produced by the console. Access to 480p, 720p and 1080i depends on the console’s configuration, dashboard settings and individual game; connecting the adapter does not automatically increase a game’s resolution.

Stereo audio travels through HDMI. Dolby Digital 5.1 is available through the separate optical TOSLINK output when used with a compatible game, the appropriate console settings and suitable audio equipment. An optical cable is required separately.

Original Xbox RGB SCART Cables

Our Premium Original Xbox RGB SCART Cable carries RGB video and stereo sound through a fully shielded EuroSCART connection. It uses CVBS sync, also known as sync-on-composite, with shielding designed to reduce interference between the video and audio signals.

Use it with a television or CRT that accepts RGB through SCART, or connect it to a compatible video processor for HDMI output. The cable carries standard-definition 480i or 576i video, depending on the console and its settings. Progressive-scan and high-definition Xbox modes require a suitable component-video or digital solution.

Original Xbox Upscalers and Video Processors

An external upscaler gives you more control over how the Xbox picture appears on a modern display and can also serve other compatible retro consoles.

The RetroScaler GBSC Pro accepts RGB SCART, component, composite, S-Video and VGA connections, with selectable HDMI output up to 1080p. Its motion-adaptive deinterlacing makes it particularly useful for 480i and 576i sources, helping reduce the flicker associated with simpler interlaced-video processing. It also provides a separate 3.5mm stereo audio output for connection to compatible powered speakers, an amplifier or a suitable display audio input. Check the required audio cable and input connections when planning your setup.

The BitFunx OSSC V1.8 provides low-latency processing for compatible RGB SCART and component signals, alongside extensive picture controls. Its available processing modes depend on the incoming resolution and the connected display. Composite and S-Video cannot connect directly.

For standard-definition connections, the RetroScaler2x AV To HDMI Converter & Line Doubler accepts compatible composite, S-Video or component video and converts 480i or 576i into progressive HDMI output. Keep the Xbox output within those supported input modes: RetroScaler2x does not accept 480p, 720p or 1080i and does not have an RGB SCART input.

Original Xbox Bluetooth Controller Adapters

Use a compatible modern controller with your original hardware through the OGX Mini Original Xbox Wireless Bluetooth Controller Adapter. This SOFUNRETRO version plugs directly into an Xbox controller port and includes its own Bluetooth receiver.

Supported options include Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One controllers, Xbox Series X|S controllers, PS4 DualShock 4, PS5 DualSense and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers. Compatibility depends on the controller model, firmware and operating mode, so check the product’s compatibility information before ordering.

Button remapping and analogue adjustments are available through Web Config. Each wireless player needs a separate adapter and an available controller port. A compatible controller is required separately.

Choosing Upgrades for Your Original Xbox

Match your video accessory to the console’s output, the cable you intend to use and the resolutions accepted by your display. Unmodified PAL Xbox consoles normally use standard-definition output; access to 480p, 720p and 1080i generally requires a suitably modified console configured for NTSC video, with support varying between games.
