PlayStation RGB SCART Cables For PS1, PS2 & PS3

The Premium PlayStation 1, 2 & 3 RGB SCART Cable carries analogue RGB video and stereo audio from compatible Sony AV Multi Out connections. Its fully shielded construction helps limit interference, while separate red, green and blue picture signals provide cleaner colour separation than composite video.

This cable uses composite video for sync, also called CVBS sync, and is intended for compatible standard-definition RGB equipment. Connect it to an RGB-capable Euro SCART television, CRT or suitable external scaler.

On PS2, select RGB in the console’s Component Video Out setting. On PS3, configure AV MULTI / SCART for a compatible standard-definition output. This RGBS connection should not be treated as a universal route for progressive-scan or high-definition modes. For a PS3 connected to an HDMI television, the console’s own HDMI output provides the direct digital connection.

PS1 & PS2 HDMI Upscalers

A suitable external scaler converts the PlayStation’s analogue output for an HDMI display. Your choice depends on the console, cable, game resolution and television.

The BitFunx OSSC V1.8 accepts RGB SCART, component and VGA signals. It offers configurable line multiplication, making it an option for PS1 RGB output and compatible PS2 connections. Its bob deinterlacing can produce visible flicker with interlaced games, while changes between progressive and interlaced output may cause your display to resynchronise. Higher output modes depend on screen compatibility.

The RetroScaler GBS-Control Pro offers RGB SCART, component, VGA, composite and S-Video inputs, with selectable HDMI output up to 1080p. Motion-adaptive deinterlacing makes it worth considering for PS2 games using 480i or 576i. It also provides controls for image adjustment and profiles. Account for its separate 3.5mm stereo audio output when planning your connections.

The RetroScaler 2x AV-to-HDMI Line Doubler accepts supported composite, S-Video and component signals and converts them to 480p or 576p HDMI output. Use composite or S-Video from a suitably connected PS1, or compatible standard-definition connections from PS2. It does not accept RGB SCART or 480p input, so PS2 progressive-scan output needs a different solution.

MX4SIO — PS2 SD Card Game Storage

The MX4SIO SD Card Adapter for PlayStation 2 provides removable SD storage through a PS2 memory-card slot. It works with a compatible version of Open PS2 Loader, commonly called OPL, and a suitable method of launching homebrew software.

MX4SIO can be used with compatible PS2 Fat and Slim setups without soldering or opening the console. It is useful when you want removable storage without installing an expansion-bay hard drive. A suitable SD card is required separately, with FAT32 or exFAT support depending on the OPL version.

Although it connects through a memory-card slot, MX4SIO does not function as a conventional PS2 save card. Plan separately for game saves using a compatible memory card or supported virtual-memory-card configuration. Game compatibility, loading performance and video playback depend on the title, storage card, OPL build and settings.

Free McBoot Memory Card For Compatible PS2 Consoles

The FMCB Free McBoot V1.966 8MB Memory Card provides a memory-card-based way to launch homebrew applications and utilities on compatible PlayStation 2 systems. It can form part of an OPL setup alongside separately configured storage.

Check your console model and boot ROM compatibility before ordering. Many PS2 Fat and Slim systems support standard Free McBoot, but later SCPH-9000x consoles with boot ROM 2.30 or newer cannot automatically boot it.

Keep the supplied card dedicated to its boot software, retain its system files and use separate save storage. The FMCB version identifies the boot software; compatibility with a particular storage adapter also depends on the loader and configuration you use.

PS2 Fat SATA HDD & SSD Adapter

For compatible consoles with the rear expansion bay, the PlayStation 2 Fat SATA HDD/SSD Adapter connects supported SATA storage to the console. It accommodates compatible 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives, allowing a PS2 Fat storage build using an HDD or SSD.

This adapter is intended for compatible SCPH-3xxxx and SCPH-5xxxx Fat models. PS2 Slim consoles do not have the matching expansion bay. Prepare the drive using the format and software required by your chosen loader, and ensure smaller drives are appropriately supported inside the bay.

This model provides local drive connectivity without Ethernet functionality. A suitable drive and software setup are required separately.

PSxMemCard Gen2 — PS1 & PS2 Save Storage

The PSxMemCard Gen2 replaces conventional fixed-capacity memory cards with virtual PS1 and PS2 memory cards stored on microSD. It gives you a way to organise saves across multiple virtual cards while continuing to use original PlayStation hardware.

An OLED display and onboard buttons help you check the device’s status and navigate its card settings. Select the correct console mode and use compatible firmware for your setup. Automatic game identification and other advanced functions depend on the firmware and supported software or hardware integration.

MicroSD-based storage also makes it practical to keep separate copies of your save files. Regular backups remain worthwhile, whichever memory-card solution you choose.

BlueRetro Mini Bluetooth Controller Adapter

The BlueRetro Mini PS1 & PS2 Bluetooth Controller Adapter connects supported modern Bluetooth controllers to original PlayStation, PS one and PS2 controller ports. Compatible options include DualShock 4, DualSense, Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One and Xbox Series controllers, Nintendo Switch Pro controllers and selected other Bluetooth models.

Each adapter supports one controller and normally takes power from the console. A compatible controller is required separately, and button mappings can be adjusted through BlueRetro Web Config.

Analogue controls and rumble depend on the controller, game and configuration. Most modern controllers have digital face buttons, so they cannot reproduce every pressure-sensitive DualShock 2 function. The adapter is designed for PS1 and PS2 consoles; compatibility with a PS3 controller does not make it an adapter for the PS3 console.

Replacement Power Supplies For PS1 & PS2

The PS1PSU Rev2.0 Power Supply replaces the original internal PSU in compatible full-size PlayStation 1 consoles. It includes an external 12V 3A power adapter with UK and other regional plug options. Check the original board and installation requirements before fitting. It is intended for the original full-size PS1, rather than the smaller PS one.

The PS2 Fat USB-C Type-C PSU Mod Power Board provides USB-C PD power input for compatible PS2 Fat hardware. Choose the listed 3XXXX or 5XXXX option to match your console and confirm the internal board arrangement before installation.

A suitable USB-C PD power supply and cable are required separately. The charger must provide the voltage and current required by the exact board; its headline wattage alone does not establish compatibility. Fitting either replacement PSU involves opening the console and following the appropriate installation instructions.
