SummerCart64 4TG N64 Flash Cartridge With 64DD Emulation

The SummerCart64 4TG N64 Flash Cartridge provides a versatile microSD-based storage solution for original Nintendo 64 consoles, combining N64 software support, automatic save handling, real-time clock functionality and hardware-level Nintendo 64DD emulation.

This version includes a preconfigured 16GB microSD card with N64FlashcartMenu, emulator applications, supporting files and content organised across multiple classic systems. It is ready to use straight from the box while still allowing compatible files to be added or organised using a separate microSD card reader.

N64FlashcartMenu provides an accessible interface for browsing software stored on the card, with support for folders, favourites and recently accessed titles.

At the centre of the cartridge is a Lattice MachXO2-7000HC speed-grade -4 FPGA supported by 64MiB of SDRAM and 16MiB of QSPI flash memory. Approximately 14MiB of the flash memory can supplement the SDRAM, allowing compatible N64 software with a combined size of up to approximately 78MiB to be loaded.

EEPROM, SRAM and FlashRAM save types are supported with automatic write-back to the microSD card. Unlike flash cartridges that require the console Reset button to be pressed before switching off, SummerCart64 can store compatible save data automatically.

A battery-backed real-time clock supports compatible software that uses date or time functions. The installed CR2032 battery can be replaced when required.

Hardware-level Nintendo 64DD emulation allows compatible .ndd disk images to be used with the appropriate DD IPL file. Compatibility remains dependent on the software image, region, menu configuration and individual title.

The included emulator applications extend the available system support to selected Game Boy, Game Boy Color, NES, Famicom, PC Engine, TurboGrafx-16, Fairchild Channel F, Master System, Game Gear, SG-1000, Super Nintendo and Super Famicom software. Performance varies between individual titles and emulator builds.

This 4TG version does not include USB-C or another USB data interface and its cartridge firmware is not user-updatable. Files are added, removed and organised by connecting the removable microSD card to a compatible card reader.

The separate SummerCart64 6TG version combines a faster FPGA speed grade with additional USB-C functionality. This 4TG version retains the principal microSD, automatic-save, RTC and 64DD features in a more affordable configuration.

First-Time Setup

1. Switch the Nintendo 64 off.
2. Confirm that the supplied microSD card is fully inserted into the SummerCart64 cartridge.
3. Insert the cartridge firmly into the Nintendo 64 cartridge slot.
4. Connect the console to a compatible television or display.
5. Switch the Nintendo 64 on.
6. Allow N64FlashcartMenu to load.
7. Browse the available folders and select the required title or emulator application.
8. Allow any save activity to finish before switching the console off.
9. Always switch the console off before removing the cartridge or microSD card.

Managing Files On The microSD Card

1. Switch the Nintendo 64 off.
2. Remove the SummerCart64 cartridge from the console.
3. Remove the microSD card from the cartridge.
4. Connect the microSD card to a compatible computer using a suitable card reader.
5. Create a complete backup before changing its contents.
6. Add, remove or organise compatible files as required.
7. Safely eject the microSD card from the computer.
8. Reinsert the card fully into the cartridge before use.

Managing files on the microSD card does not update or alter the cartridge firmware.

This SummerCart64 4TG N64 Flash Cartridge is covered by a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware faults arising during normal use from the date of delivery.

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, misuse, forced insertion, hot plugging, damaged cartridge contacts, damaged microSD connections, unauthorised modification, hardware reprogramming or damage caused by an incompatible console or accessory.

Corrupted storage, deleted files, user-added content, incompatible software, emulator limitations, changes made to the supplied microSD card or failure to create a backup of its original contents are not considered hardware faults.

Compatibility differences involving individual games, homebrew software, ROM revisions, 64DD disk images, DD IPL files, emulator applications, console regions or unsupported accessories are not considered product faults.

Warranty claims remain subject to the full Retrolize warranty terms and are provided in addition to the customer’s statutory rights.
