Retro-Bit Tribute64 V2 2.4GHz Wireless N64 Controller - Classic Grey

The original Nintendo 64 controller is iconic, but its three-pronged shape is not comfortable for everyone. The Retro-Bit Tribute64 V2 2.4GHz Wireless N64 Controller places the familiar N64 controls into a more conventional two-grip design, providing a comfortable cable-free alternative for original Nintendo 64 consoles.

The responsive analogue stick, digital D-pad, A and B buttons, four individual C buttons and Start button retain the inputs required by original N64 games. Additional L, R, ZL and ZR shoulder controls make the layout easier to use across compatible modern systems while preserving quick access to the distinctive Nintendo 64 button arrangement.

Both Nintendo 64 and USB wireless receivers are included. The N64 receiver connects directly to an original console controller port without requiring any modification, while the USB receiver supports Nintendo Switch, Windows PC, Mac, Steam, PlayStation 3 and compatible Android devices.

A switch on the N64 receiver allows you to choose between Rumble and Memory modes before starting the console. Rumble mode activates the controller’s built-in vibration, while Memory mode allows a compatible Nintendo 64 Controller Pak or Memory Pak to be connected directly to the receiver for games that use external save storage.

The dedicated 2.4GHz wireless connection avoids Bluetooth pairing and provides a range of up to approximately 10 metres. D-Input, X-Input and selectable controller layouts are available through the USB receiver, helping the controller adapt to different games, emulators and supported systems.

Its built-in 500mAh rechargeable battery provides approximately 15–20 hours of play with rumble enabled or up to approximately 30 hours without rumble. USB-C charging, automatic sleep after approximately five minutes of inactivity and an included charging cable make it easy to keep ready for use.

Dedicated 2.4GHz Controller: This is not a Bluetooth controller. It connects through the included Nintendo 64 and USB wireless receivers and cannot connect directly to Bluetooth devices or BlueRetro adapters.

Rumble Or Memory Mode: The Nintendo 64 receiver must be set to either Rumble or Memory mode before switching on the console. Built-in rumble and Controller Pak functions cannot be used simultaneously.

Controller Pak Compatibility: Only compatible Nintendo 64 Controller Paks, also known as Memory Paks, should be connected to the N64 receiver. Transfer Paks, Rumble Paks and other original controller accessories are not supported through the receiver.

N64 Receiver Power Warning: The receiver is powered directly by the Nintendo 64. Do not connect a powered Micro-USB cable to the N64 receiver, as this may damage the console or receiver.

V2 Firmware Required: This listing is for the Tribute64 V2. V1 and V2 firmware are not interchangeable, so only install official firmware specifically identified for Tribute64 V2 hardware.

Nintendo Switch 2 Support: Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility requires the correct official Tribute64 V2 USB Receiver Firmware 1.1 or later.

This Retro-Bit Tribute64 Wireless Controller V2 is covered by a 12-month Retrolize warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware faults arising during normal use from the date of delivery.

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, cracked housings, damaged analogue sticks or buttons, damaged USB-C connections, damaged receivers, excessive force, unauthorised modification, unsuitable charging equipment or damage caused by unsupported Nintendo 64 accessories.

Damage, loss of function or bricking caused by installing incorrect, incompatible or unofficial firmware, using V1 firmware on V2 hardware, applying firmware to the wrong component, interrupting an update or carrying out an update incorrectly is not covered by the warranty.

Software-specific compatibility differences, button-mapping requirements, emulator configuration and the normal reduction in rechargeable battery capacity through age and repeated charging are not considered manufacturing defects.

Warranty claims remain subject to the full Retrolize warranty terms and are additional to the customer’s statutory rights.

Original Nintendo 64 Setup: Select Rumble or Memory mode on the N64 receiver while the console is switched off, then connect the receiver directly to an original Nintendo 64 controller port.

Wireless Pairing: Switch on the console and hold the pairing button on the receiver until its indicator flashes rapidly. Press Start on the controller to switch it on and establish the connection.

Rumble & Memory Modes: Use Rumble mode for built-in controller vibration or Memory mode for a compatible Controller Pak. Switch the console off before inserting, removing or changing a Controller Pak.

Nintendo Switch Setup: Enable Pro Controller Wired Communication within the Nintendo Switch system settings before connecting the USB receiver.

D-Input & X-Input: Hold Start and B for approximately five seconds to change between D-Input and X-Input modes. Some systems and software require X-Input.

Controller Layout Modes: Start and Up restores the default layout, Start and Left selects Legacy mode, and holding Start and Right for approximately five seconds selects All Star mode.

Button Layout Adjustment: Hold Start and Down for approximately five seconds to exchange the A/B and X/Y assignments. Additional shortcuts allow the shoulder-button assignments to be exchanged when required.

Charging: Connect the supplied USB-C cable to a suitable powered USB source. The first controller indicator flashes while charging and remains steadily illuminated once charging is complete.

Automatic Sleep: The controller enters sleep mode after approximately five minutes without input to help preserve battery life.

Factory Reset: If the controller stops responding, insert a thin, firm object into the recessed reset opening on the rear of the controller.

Firmware Updates: Confirm that every firmware file is specifically intended for the Tribute64 V2 controller or receiver before installation. V1 and V2 firmware must never be interchanged.
