SummerCart64 connects directly to the Nintendo 64 cartridge slot and allows compatible N64 software, homebrew, ROM hacks and 64DD disk images to be accessed from a microSD card using N64FlashcartMenu. No soldering or internal console modification is required.

This Elite version uses the Lattice MachXO2-7000HC 6TG speed-grade FPGA specified by the official SummerCart64 reference design, providing the timing performance intended for the original hardware design rather than using the slower 4TG FPGA found in the less expensive 4TG option.

N64FlashcartMenu provides a clean console-based interface for browsing compatible software, managing saves, viewing artwork, accessing favourites and recently played titles, adjusting the real-time clock and launching supported homebrew.

SummerCart64 is not limited to Nintendo 64 software. Compatible emulator support allows Game Boy, Game Boy Color, NES and Super Nintendo software to be launched through the Nintendo 64 from the same microSD card. Current menu support also extends to Sega Master System and Game Gear through compatible emulator software.

The cartridge includes 64MiB of SDRAM and 16MiB of QSPI flash memory, providing enough working space for every known retail Nintendo 64 cartridge image as well as larger compatible homebrew projects.

The high-speed microSD interface supports transfer rates of up to approximately 23.8MiB/s, allowing even large Nintendo 64 software images to load quickly. SummerCart64 supports microSD cards up to 2TB, providing substantial storage for N64 software, homebrew, saves, emulator ROMs and 64DD disk images.

Automatic save handling supports common Nintendo 64 cartridge save types including EEPROM, SRAM and FlashRAM. Save data is automatically written back to the microSD card without requiring the traditional reset-before-power-off routine associated with some older N64 flash cartridges.

A built-in battery-backed real-time clock provides RTC functionality for compatible software and homebrew, with a replaceable CR2032 battery retaining the clock while the console is switched off.

SummerCart64 also provides hardware-level Nintendo 64DD emulation, allowing compatible raw 64DD disk images to be loaded directly from microSD or USB. Standalone 64DD software, cartridge-and-disk combinations and compatible multi-disk releases are supported when the required 64DD IPL files and original console accessories are available.

Automatic PAL and NTSC CIC handling allows the same SummerCart64 cartridge to work across compatible European, North American and Japanese Nintendo 64 consoles without manually changing a region switch or CIC chip.

USB-C connectivity provides another high-speed interface for compatible development and homebrew functions, with support for tools including UNFLoader and the IS-Viewer 64 debug interface.

microSD Storage: SummerCart64 loads compatible software and save data from a microSD card. An 8GB microSD card is included.

Expansion Pak Requirements Remain: SummerCart64 does not replace the Nintendo 64 Expansion Pak. Software that originally requires the Expansion Pak will still require one.

Controller Pak Saves: Games that originally save to a Controller Pak still require a compatible Controller Pak for normal in-game saving. Automatic SummerCart64 save write-back applies to supported cartridge-based save types including EEPROM, SRAM and FlashRAM.

64DD Setup: SummerCart64 provides hardware-level 64DD emulation, but compatible 64DD disk images and the appropriate 64DD IPL files are required for 64DD software.

Emulator Compatibility Varies: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, NES, SNES and other systems are supported through compatible N64FlashcartMenu emulator software. Performance and compatibility vary between individual titles.

This SummerCart64 Elite 6TG Flash Cartridge is covered by a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware faults arising during normal use.

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, damaged cartridge connectors, damaged microSD or USB-C ports, excessive force, unauthorised hardware modification or faults caused by incompatible equipment.

Corrupted microSD cards, damaged files, incompatible software, incorrectly configured menu files, incorrect 64DD IPL files, individual emulator or homebrew incompatibilities or issues caused by third-party software are not considered hardware faults.

Software requiring original Nintendo 64 accessories such as an Expansion Pak or Controller Pak will continue to require that hardware where applicable. Failure of software caused by a missing required accessory is not considered a fault with SummerCart64.

Emulator compatibility and performance can vary between Game Boy, Game Boy Color, NES, SNES, Master System, Game Gear and individual software titles. Emulator-specific limitations are not considered hardware faults.

Normal depletion of the replaceable CR2032 real-time-clock battery through use and age is not considered a manufacturing defect.
