Nintendo 64 Premium ABS Replacement Shells

The Nintendo 64 Premium ABS Replacement Shell Kit provides a replacement console housing for restoring an original N64 with cracked, scratched, damaged or worn exterior plastics. It is also a practical option for changing the appearance of an existing console while keeping its original hardware.

Available in Black, Purple and Blue, the kit includes replacement upper and lower housings with matching plastic parts. Black has an opaque finish for a traditional console appearance, while the translucent Purple and Blue options reveal the internal hardware through the coloured casing.

Each colour includes the same set of plastic parts, together with a front logo and installation tools. Matching buttons, covers and cartridge-slot components help create a coordinated finish across the assembled console. The original console screws must be retained and reused; replacement screws and a printed installation manual are not included.

Installation involves opening the Nintendo 64 and transferring its existing electronics, shielding and internal fittings into the replacement shell. The housing retains the standard console layout, with openings for the controller connections, cartridge slot, memory expansion bay and rear connections.

The supplied universal cartridge-slot assembly accommodates both US and Japanese cartridge shapes without requiring the original region-keyed tray. This removes the physical cartridge-shape restriction between those formats, but the shell does not alter the console’s electronic region compatibility. A PAL console remains PAL, and changing its housing alone does not make NTSC games compatible.

Designed for standard original PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J Nintendo 64 consoles, this is an aftermarket replacement casing rather than an original Nintendo shell. Console electronics and a complete working console are not supplied.

Universal Cartridge Opening: The supplied cartridge-slot assembly physically accepts US and Japanese cartridges without retaining the original region-keyed tray. This does not bypass PAL/NTSC electronic region locking, convert the console’s video system or guarantee compatibility with games from every region.

Installation Requirements: Console disassembly is required. Opening the original housing requires a 4.5mm Gamebit screwdriver, with appropriately sized cross-head screwdrivers used for internal fittings. Installation tools are included.

Reuse Original Screws: Replacement screws are not supplied. Retain and reuse the original console screws during installation.

Installation Guidance: No printed manual or installation instructions are supplied. The steps below provide a general overview of the installation process.

Aftermarket Replacement: This is an aftermarket shell kit and is not an original Nintendo product.

Installation Instructions

1. Disconnect the console from power and remove its power supply, cables, cartridge and Jumper Pak or Expansion Pak.
2. Open the original housing carefully, keeping all original screws and internal fittings organised for reuse.
3. Carefully transfer the original electronics, shielding and required internal hardware into the replacement housing.
4. Fit the supplied matching plastic parts and front logo, checking button movement, cartridge-door operation and connector alignment.
5. Reassemble the console using its original screws. Tighten gently by hand to avoid damaging the plastic screw posts.
6. Refit the Jumper Pak or Expansion Pak, reconnect the console and check normal operation.

This Nintendo 64 Premium ABS Replacement Shell Kit is covered by a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware faults arising during normal use.

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, damage caused during installation, cracked screw posts caused by overtightening, normal cosmetic wear, or damage resulting from cutting, drilling, painting, unsuitable cleaning chemicals or other physical modifications.

The Retrolize warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights. Warranty claims remain subject to the full Retrolize warranty terms.

Is This A Complete Nintendo 64 Console?

No. This is a replacement shell kit containing the housing, matching plastic parts, front logo and installation tools. You must transfer the electronics and internal hardware from an existing Nintendo 64 console.

Which Nintendo 64 Consoles Does It Fit?
