Description
Description
Restore the button response of an original Nintendo 64 controller with this Premium Silicone Button Contact Pad Kit, designed as a direct replacement for worn, split or tired N64 controller membranes.
Original Nintendo 64 controllers use flexible rubber membranes underneath the buttons to provide spring resistance and create electrical contact with the controller PCB. After decades of use, these original membranes can soften, split, lose their elasticity or develop worn conductive surfaces.
The result can be buttons that feel soft or inconsistent, require excessive pressure, fail to register reliably or no longer return with the crisp response expected from a well-maintained N64 controller.
Replacing the ageing membranes with fresh silicone contact pads restores the physical interface between the controller buttons and the PCB, helping improve button response, return pressure and overall tactile feel.
The complete set covers the main Nintendo 64 controller inputs including the D-Pad, A and B buttons, C buttons, Start, Z trigger and L and R shoulder buttons.
Each membrane incorporates conductive contact surfaces that press against the corresponding contacts on the controller circuit board when a button is pushed. Correct alignment and clean PCB contacts are important for reliable operation.
The replacement pads are moulded to fit the internal layout of the original Nintendo NUS-005 controller and install in place of the original rubber membranes without soldering or electrical modification.
Installation requires the controller shell to be opened and the internal PCB removed. This also provides a useful opportunity to clean dust, contamination and residue from the button wells and PCB contact surfaces before fitting the new membranes.
These replacement pads are particularly useful when restoring original Nintendo 64 controllers where the shell, PCB and buttons remain in good condition but decades-old rubber components have become tired or inconsistent.
The kit does not alter the electronic response time of the controller and should not be confused with an electronic performance modification. Its purpose is to restore the mechanical feel and reliable conductive contact of the original button system.
Analogue-stick wear is also separate from the button membranes. Controllers with a loose or inaccurate analogue stick may additionally require replacement or restoration of the joystick assembly.
For anyone repairing an original Nintendo 64 controller, refreshing a heavily used NUS-005 or rebuilding a controller alongside a replacement analogue stick, this complete silicone contact pad kit provides a straightforward way to renew the ageing rubber components inside the controller.

Warranty Information
Warranty Information
This Nintendo 64 Silicone Button Contact Pad Kit is covered by a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty against manufacturing defects arising during normal use.
The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, torn or cut membranes, damage caused during installation, excessive stretching, incorrect fitting or contamination with unsuitable cleaning products.
Button faults caused by damaged controller PCBs, worn buttons, corrosion, contaminated PCB contacts, analogue-stick faults or other defective controller components are not considered faults with the replacement contact pads.
Fresh silicone membranes may feel firmer than heavily worn original Nintendo components. Differences in tactile feel compared with decades-old OEM membranes are not considered product faults.
Normal wear to silicone and conductive contact surfaces caused by extended use is not considered a manufacturing defect.
The Retrolize warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights.
Warranty claims remain subject to the full Retrolize warranty terms.
