Description
Description
Restore the familiar look and feel of your original handheld with a genuine Nintendo Game Boy Advance OEM shell. This housing is intended for AGB-001 restoration projects where retaining original Nintendo casing is a priority, whether you are replacing a damaged housing, rebuilding a donor console or returning a modified GBA to an original-style exterior.
The supplied front and rear housings retain the original moulding and mounting layout for standard GBA internals. An original OEM battery cover and screw set are included, helping you complete the casing without having to source those parts separately. The cover is included in the overall condition grade, so a better-looking front cannot conceal a lower-grade rear housing or battery cover.
Choose the colour and grade shown in the variant selector. Grade A suits a restoration where a cleaner appearance matters, while Grade B offers a usable original housing with more visible signs of previous use. Both grades require sound mounting points, working clips and a secure battery-cover latch. Cosmetic grading does not mean that the shell is new, and Grade B is not a spares-or-repair category.
A replacement tempered glass screen lens supplies the outer viewing window, while replacement serial and regulatory labels help finish the exterior. The lens is separate from the LCD that produces the picture: this package does not include a display or add a backlight. The replacement labels are reproductions and should not be treated as evidence of an original factory serial number or a matching-number console.
This is a housing package for transferring your existing components, with buttons and electronics supplied by your own console or purchased separately. For a standard-screen restoration, see our original GBA 32-pin and 40-pin OEM LCD screens. You can also browse Game Boy Advance parts, mods and upgrades for other components needed to complete your build.
Supplied with a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty and fast UK delivery.

Critical Info
Critical Info
Check Your Console: This housing is for the original Nintendo Game Boy Advance AGB-001. It does not fit the Game Boy Advance SP, Game Boy Micro, Game Boy Color or other Game Boy models.
Original Shell, Used Condition: The front housing, rear housing and battery cover are original Nintendo OEM parts. These are used shells graded by condition, not newly manufactured replacement housings. The tempered glass lens and replacement labels are separate replacement items.
Choose The Correct Grade: Grade A means excellent cosmetic condition with very light wear. Grade B allows more visible scratches, scuffs, small cosmetic dents or mild discolouration. Both grades must remain structurally sound. The full grading standard appears under Additional Information.
Inspect Before Installation: Check the shell halves, screw posts, clips, battery-cover latch, lens and supplied screws before transferring any parts. If anything is damaged, missing or inconsistent with the selected grade, stop and contact Retrolize before starting installation.
Screen And Mod Compatibility: This is an original housing intended for the original GBA screen layout. It is not supplied as a pre-cut IPS or laminated-screen shell. Some screen upgrades require trimming or a purpose-made housing; check the exact kit's fitting requirements before purchasing. A 32-pin or 40-pin motherboard connection determines the correct LCD or ribbon connection, not a separate colour or grade option for this shell.
Transfer Your Existing Internals: Buttons, silicone membranes, LCD, motherboard, speaker and installation tools are not included. Retain small fittings from your existing console, including any light diffuser, switch cover, shoulder-button hardware, screen gasket or battery contacts required for your build and not listed in Package Includes.
Installation Overview
- Confirm that the console is an AGB-001. Switch it off, disconnect accessories and remove the game cartridge and both AA batteries before opening it.
- Prepare a clean, soft work surface and correctly fitting tri-point and JIS-compatible crosshead screwdrivers. Keep track of the different screw positions and lengths.
- Inspect the replacement housing and compare its mounting points with your existing shell before removing the console's internal parts. Do not proceed if you find a fault or a compatibility problem.
- Carefully transfer the original screen, motherboard, speaker, controls, membranes and required small fittings. Unlock the LCD ribbon connector before removing its cable; do not pull against a locked connector or strain the speaker wires.
- Where lens fitting is required, keep dust and fingerprints away from the inner viewing surfaces. Do not press on the LCD or trap its ribbon cable between the housing and board.
- Check that the controls, shoulder-button parts and power-switch cover sit correctly. Bring the shell halves together without force, use the correct screws in their original positions and tighten only until snug. Excessive pressure can damage the screw posts or bind the controls.
- Fit the battery cover and check that it latches securely. Once the console is safely reassembled, refit the batteries and check the display, sound, power switch and every button.
A straightforward transfer of intact original components normally does not require soldering. Damaged wiring, connectors or additional modifications may require separate repair work. If you are unfamiliar with console disassembly, use an experienced installer.

Warranty Information
Warranty Information
This Game Boy Advance OEM shell package includes a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty from the date of delivery against faults in the supplied parts under normal use.
Condition And Coverage: These are used original housings supplied to the selected Grade A or Grade B standard. Cosmetic wear described by that grade is part of the advertised condition. Coverage applies to the supplied housing and accessories, not unrelated faults in your console or transferred components.
Inspection Before Installation: Inspect the front and rear housings, screw posts, clips, battery cover, glass lens, screws and labels before transferring components or applying adhesive. Do not attempt installation if an item arrives damaged, incomplete or inconsistent with its advertised grade. Do not continue fitting a part with a suspected fault.
Installation And Handling Damage: The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect fitting, removal, excessive force or unsuitable tools. This includes cracked or stripped screw posts, damaged clips, broken battery-cover tabs, overtightened or incorrectly positioned screws, chipped glass, trapped wiring or damage caused by forcing incompatible components into the housing.
Modification And External Damage: Damage caused by cutting, sanding, drilling, painting, unsuitable adhesives or solvents, excessive heat, liquid exposure, accidental impact or misuse is not covered. The warranty does not guarantee compatibility with an unspecified IPS kit or modified console.
Returns And Statutory Rights: Discretionary returns outside your statutory rights are not accepted once installation has been attempted. This does not remove any applicable statutory cancellation rights or your rights if the item is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet legal requirements. Installation does not automatically remove those rights.
Warranty claims remain subject to the full Retrolize warranty terms. This warranty is additional to your statutory rights, which remain unaffected.

Shell Condition Grading
Grade A — Excellent: Very light signs of previous use. Minor surface marks may be visible on close inspection, but there are no deep scratches, chips or significant discolouration.
Grade B — Good: Noticeable scratches, scuffs or small cosmetic dents. Surface wear or mild discolouration may be present, but the housing remains structurally sound and fits correctly.
Required For Both Grades: Intact screw posts, working clips and a secure battery-cover latch. Cracks, broken mounting points, damaged clips and warping that affects fit are not acceptable within these grades.
How The Overall Grade Is Decided: The lowest grade of the front housing, rear housing or included battery cover determines the overall grade. For example, a Grade A front supplied with a Grade B rear is sold as Grade B.
What The Grade Covers: Grading describes the original plastic casing components. A replacement glass lens or new labels do not raise the casing grade. Included accessories are listed separately under Package Includes.
Is This An Original Nintendo Shell Or An Aftermarket Reproduction?
The front housing, rear housing and battery cover are original Nintendo OEM parts. The supplied glass lens and replacement labels are replacement items, so the package should not be described as entirely factory-original.
Does Grade B Mean Anything Is Broken?
No. Grade B describes more visible cosmetic wear. The shell must still fit correctly, its screw posts and clips must be intact, and the battery cover must latch securely.
Are Buttons, An LCD Or A Motherboard Included?
No. Transfer these from your existing console or purchase them separately. The included glass lens is the outer screen window, not the LCD display.
Will This Fit My IPS Screen Upgrade?
Compatibility depends on the exact upgrade kit. This is an original shell, not a housing advertised as pre-cut for a particular IPS or laminated screen. Check the kit's instructions for trimming, lens-opening and mounting requirements before choosing a shell.
Do I Need A Different Shell For A 32-Pin Or 40-Pin GBA?
No separate pin-count variant is offered for this original housing. The 32-pin or 40-pin choice applies to the original LCD connection and any upgrade ribbon you use; retain or select the screen connection that matches your motherboard.
Are The Serial Labels Original?
No. The supplied labels are replacements. They do not establish the original serial number, production history or special-edition provenance of a console.
Is International Delivery Available?
Yes. Tracked international delivery is available to supported destinations. Available services, delivery estimates and applicable duties and taxes are shown at checkout.
