Description
Description
This RetroScaler BlueRetro GameCube Bluetooth Controller Adapter connects selected modern Bluetooth controllers to original Nintendo GameCube consoles. The compact wireless controller receiver plugs directly into a GameCube controller port, adding wireless control without permanently modifying the console.
The adapter uses an ESP32-based implementation of the open-source BlueRetro hardware and software platform. It translates compatible Bluetooth controller inputs into standard GameCube controller commands with support for digital buttons, analogue sticks, analogue trigger movement and the final digital trigger press.
Compatible controllers include official Sony DualShock 3, DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers, Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S controllers, Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers, Joy-Con, Wii Remotes, Wii U Pro Controllers and selected 8BitDo, Retro-Bit and Bluetooth HID gamepads.
Original GameCube triggers use both analogue movement and a digital end click. BlueRetro Web Config provides a dedicated trigger-merge preset for modern controllers, alongside remappable buttons, adjustable analogue dead zones and configurable output settings. Rumble is supported with compatible controllers and games when the correct output accessory is enabled.
The adapter can also be used with compatible Nintendo Wii consoles fitted with physical GameCube controller ports when playing GameCube software. One adapter operates one controller port, allowing up to four wireless players when four adapters are installed.
Available in Black, Grey and Smokey Black, the adapter is dispatched from UK stock for UK and supported international delivery destinations. It includes a 12-month Retrolize warranty and UK-based customer support.

First-Time Pairing
- Switch the Nintendo GameCube or compatible Wii console off.
- Connect the BlueRetro adapter to the required GameCube controller port.
- Switch the console on. The adapter should enter pairing mode and its red LED should begin flashing. Hold the adapter button for approximately three seconds if pairing mode does not start.
- Place the supported Bluetooth controller into its pairing mode.
- Wait for the controller and adapter to connect. The adapter’s blue LED should remain illuminated after a successful connection.
- Test the controls before starting a game.
- Once its pairing information has been stored, the controller can normally reconnect by being switched on again.
- Always switch the console off before removing or changing the adapter.

Brief Press During Pairing Mode: Cancels Bluetooth pairing.

Constant Blue LED: A controller is connected.
Using GameCube Trigger & Rumble Modes
An original GameCube controller’s L and R triggers combine analogue travel with a digital button press at the end of their movement.
For most modern Bluetooth controllers, load the GameCube Merge analog & digital trigger preset through BlueRetro Web Config. This allows an analogue trigger to reproduce both stages of the original GameCube trigger.
To enable compatible controller vibration, select GamePad as the output mode and Rumble as the accessory. Rumble operation also depends on the connected controller and game.
The mapped Select, View, Share or Minus function can toggle the face-button mapping between its standard positional layout and a rotated name-based layout. This is useful for compatible Switch controllers with a GameCube-style button arrangement.
Using The 8BitDo GameCube Mod Kit
- Switch the console on with the BlueRetro adapter connected and in pairing mode.
- Start the 8BitDo GameCube Mod Kit in Android mode by holding Start + B. Do not use its Switch mode.
- Wait for pairing to complete.
- Press the A button several times to initialise the analogue stick’s centre position.
- Use the Default Gamepad or Default Gamepad/Keyboard preset for the mod kit’s separate trigger end button. Use the GameCube trigger-merge preset if analogue travel should simulate the final digital press.
Using BlueRetro Web Config
- Switch the console on with the adapter connected.
- Ensure that no Bluetooth controller is currently connected to the adapter.
- Open the official BlueRetro Web Config using Chrome or another compatible Chromium-based browser on a desktop or Android device.
- Connect to the adapter through the browser.
- Configure button mappings, trigger presets, analogue dead zones and output settings as required.
- Enable GamePad output with the Rumble accessory if compatible vibration is required.
- Only install firmware explicitly confirmed as compatible with this exact RetroScaler adapter.

Additional Information
Additional Information
Can I Use A PS5 DualSense Controller On A Nintendo GameCube?
Yes. An official Sony DualSense controller can be paired with an original Nintendo GameCube through this BlueRetro adapter.
Can I Use An Xbox Series Controller On A Nintendo GameCube?
Yes. Xbox Series X|S controllers and Bluetooth-enabled Xbox One controllers are supported. Original Xbox One controllers without Bluetooth are not supported.
Can The Adapter Be Used With A Nintendo Wii?
Yes, provided the Wii has physical GameCube controller ports and is being used to play Nintendo GameCube software. Wii consoles without GameCube controller ports cannot use this adapter directly.
Does It Work With The 8BitDo GameCube Mod Kit?
Yes, but the 8BitDo GameCube Mod Kit must be started in Android mode using Start + B. Its Switch mode does not operate correctly with BlueRetro.
Do GameCube Analogue Triggers Work?
Yes. However, most modern Bluetooth controllers require the GameCube Merge analog & digital trigger preset to reproduce both the analogue trigger movement and the digital button press at the end of its travel.
Does GameCube Rumble Work?
Yes. Rumble is supported with compatible controllers and games. GamePad output and the Rumble accessory may need to be selected through BlueRetro Web Config.
Can I Remap The Controls?
Yes. Button assignments, analogue dead zones, trigger presets, output settings and other compatible options can be adjusted through BlueRetro Web Config using a compatible Chrome-based browser.
Can I Use The Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube Controller?
Compatibility is not guaranteed as a standard out-of-box feature. BlueRetro support was introduced through beta firmware and depends on the exact adapter hardware and installed firmware build.
Contact Retrolize before ordering specifically for this controller. Never install firmware that has not been explicitly confirmed as compatible with this exact RetroScaler adapter.
Does The Adapter Replace A GameCube Memory Card?
No. Memory card emulation is not supported. Game saves continue to use a standard Nintendo GameCube memory card connected to the console.
Can I Connect More Than One Wireless Controller?
Yes, but every wireless controller requires its own adapter. Up to four adapters can be connected directly to the four controller ports on a Nintendo GameCube.
Can I Use A Controller’s 2.4GHz USB Receiver?
No. Controllers that depend on their own proprietary 2.4GHz USB receiver cannot connect through Bluetooth.
Is International Delivery Available?
Yes. Tracked international delivery is available to supported destinations, with the available services, delivery times, duties and taxes shown at checkout.
