Description
Description
Replace a damaged or failed internal speaker in your Nintendo Game Boy Advance AGB-001 with this clear replacement speaker. Designed around the original speaker’s size, it is suitable for restoring an existing console or completing a rebuild with a fresh audio component. Two white wires are supplied already attached, ready to connect to the motherboard by soldering.
A Practical Replacement For The Original GBA
The speaker occupies the original AGB-001 speaker position, allowing you to replace the component without adapting the shell for a larger generic speaker. Its approximately 23mm diameter matches the intended original-style mounting arrangement. With an aftermarket shell, check that the speaker recess and wire routing retain the original layout, especially if other modifications share the available space.
Use it when diagnosis has identified the speaker itself as faulty or physically damaged. A torn diaphragm or broken speaker connection may justify replacement, but similar audio symptoms can also originate elsewhere in the console. Replacing the speaker should therefore form part of a properly diagnosed repair.
Clear Styling For Custom Builds
The transparent construction and white wiring complement clear and translucent shells, making the speaker a considered part of the finished build. It also fits suitable opaque shells; the clear appearance is a styling choice rather than a requirement for use.
This is a new aftermarket replacement, rather than a recovered Nintendo OEM speaker. It offers a fresh component for restoration projects where the original speaker is damaged, missing or unsuitable for reuse.
Straightforward Audio Hardware, With Soldering Required
The speaker connects to the console’s existing audio output and does not require an additional amplifier for a standard replacement installation. It does not add an amplifier, stereo output or noise-filtering circuitry. Final sound and volume depend on the condition of the console and the complete audio installation; a fixed increase in loudness is not promised.

Critical Info
Critical Info
Check Your Console: This speaker is for the original Game Boy Advance AGB-001. It is not the contact-mounted speaker used in the Game Boy Advance SP. Check the model number on your console before ordering.
Soldering Required: The two white wires are already attached to the speaker, but their free ends must be soldered to the console’s speaker connections. Opening the console and removing the original speaker are required. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with electronics soldering.
Handle The Speaker Carefully: Hold the outer frame. Do not press, puncture or rest tools against the thin diaphragm, and do not lift the speaker by its wires. Damage to the film or wire connections can affect operation.
Inspect Before Installation: Check the speaker, diaphragm and wires before soldering. If anything appears damaged on arrival, stop and contact Retrolize. Functional testing requires a correct connection to compatible audio hardware; test the fitted speaker before final reassembly.
Diagnose The Fault First: A replacement speaker can address a failed speaker, but it will not repair a fault elsewhere in the console’s audio circuitry. Low volume, distortion or missing sound should be investigated before replacing parts.
Installation Overview
- Switch off the console, remove its batteries and disconnect any rechargeable battery modification or external power source.
- Open the AGB-001 using suitable tools. Record the original speaker connections and wire routing before removing anything.
- Desolder the original speaker’s two wires from the motherboard and carefully remove the speaker without pulling on the board pads.
- Seat the replacement in the speaker recess. Solder its wires to the correct motherboard connections, following the original wiring and any applicable terminal markings.
- Inspect the joints for bridges and loose strands. Route the wires so they cannot be trapped by the motherboard, screw posts or shell, and keep the diaphragm clear.
- With the assembly safely supported and connections checked, test the audio before closing the case. Switch off and disconnect power again before completing reassembly.

Warranty Information
Warranty Information
This Game Boy Advance replacement speaker includes a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty from the date of delivery against faults in the supplied speaker under normal use.
Condition And Coverage: The speaker is supplied as a new aftermarket replacement. The warranty covers faults in the supplied component; it does not cover unrelated faults in your console, motherboard or other installed modifications.
Inspection Before Installation: Inspect the diaphragm, frame and attached wires before fitting. If you identify damage on arrival, do not solder or attempt installation. Contact Retrolize with your order number and clear photographs so the issue can be assessed. Functional testing requires a correct connection to compatible audio hardware.
Installation And Handling Damage: The warranty does not cover damage caused during installation, removal or handling. This includes a punctured or pressed diaphragm, pulled wires, detached terminals, excessive soldering heat, solder bridges, short circuits, incorrect connections or damage caused by trapping the speaker or wires during reassembly.
Receiving Hardware And Modifications: Damage caused by incompatible audio hardware, excessive amplifier output or faults elsewhere in the console is not covered. A speaker is not considered faulty solely because an unresolved motherboard or audio-circuit fault prevents the completed console from operating correctly.
Returns After Installation: We do not accept discretionary returns once soldering or installation has been attempted. This does not restrict your statutory cancellation rights or rights concerning faulty goods.
Fault Reporting: If you suspect a speaker fault, stop further installation or rework and contact Retrolize with your order number, photographs of the speaker and connections, a description of the issue and details of any audio modifications fitted to the console.
Warranty claims remain subject to the full Retrolize warranty terms. This warranty is additional to your statutory rights, which remain unaffected.
Additional Information
Additional Information
Does This Fit The Original Game Boy Advance?
Yes. It is intended for the original AGB-001 model and its standard speaker mounting position. Check the model number before ordering, particularly if you also own a Game Boy Advance SP.
Is This A Solder-Free Replacement?
No. Although the wires are already attached to the speaker, they must be soldered to the motherboard. The original speaker’s wires also need to be desoldered during removal.
Do I Need An Amplifier Mod?
No additional amplifier is required for a standard replacement. If your console already has an audio modification, check its speaker impedance and power requirements before connecting this speaker.
Will It Make My GBA Louder?
Replacing a damaged speaker may restore lost output, but a particular volume increase over a healthy original speaker is not guaranteed. The speaker’s power rating is not a measure of how much louder the console will become.
Will It Fix Crackling, Low Volume Or No Sound?
It may resolve these symptoms where the speaker itself is faulty. It cannot correct every audio fault, so check the wiring and console audio circuitry before deciding which component needs replacement.
Does It Work With A Clear Replacement Shell?
Yes, where the shell retains the standard AGB-001 speaker mounting arrangement. Its clear appearance and white wires suit transparent builds. Check clearance around other modifications before reassembly.
Do I Need To Choose A 32-Pin Or 40-Pin Version?
No separate speaker variant is required for those screen connector types. This speaker connects to the audio circuit, not the LCD connector. The console must still be an original AGB-001.
Is This An Original Nintendo Part?
No. This is a new aftermarket replacement speaker, not a used component recovered from a Nintendo console.
Is International Delivery Available?
