Expand the storage available to Swiss and GameCube homebrew with the Bitfunx GC2SD Gen2, a compact microSD card adapter designed to connect directly to the Nintendo GameCube memory card interface.

Also commonly known as an SD Gecko-style adapter, GC2SD allows compatible GameCube software to access files stored on a microSD card through the console's External Interface memory card bus.

The Gen2 adapter supports microSD cards up to 512GB, providing plenty of capacity for Swiss files, homebrew applications, utilities and compatible software.

Installation requires no soldering, console disassembly or permanent modification. Insert a compatible microSD card into the GC2SD and plug the adapter directly into one of the GameCube memory card slots.

Memory Card Slot B is generally the most practical position because Slot A can remain available for a conventional Nintendo GameCube Memory Card used for game saves.

GC2SD itself is not a boot device. The GameCube still requires a compatible method of launching Swiss or other homebrew software before files stored on the microSD card can be accessed.

Compatible launch methods can include PicoBoot, Action Replay and other established GameCube homebrew or modification setups. Once Swiss is running, the GC2SD can be selected as an available SD storage device.

Unlike an optical drive emulator such as CUBEODE, GC2SD does not replace the original GameCube disc drive. The optical drive can remain fully installed and operational, making GC2SD suitable for setups where the user wants to retain physical-disc functionality.

It can also complement other GameCube modifications and homebrew solutions where accessible external microSD storage is useful for applications, configuration files, utilities and compatible software.

The adapter uses a microSD / TF card rather than a full-size SD card, keeping the unit compact when installed in the front of the GameCube.

Original Nintendo Wii RVL-001 consoles with GameCube compatibility can also use the GC2SD through their GameCube memory card ports with compatible software. Later Wii revisions that removed the GameCube ports are not supported.
