The Anbernic RG34XX SP is a compact clamshell retro gaming handheld designed for portable emulation while protecting its display whenever the console is closed.

Its 3.4-inch OCA laminated IPS screen uses a 720 × 480 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. This makes it particularly well suited to Game Boy Advance software while delivering a sharp image across compatible home-console, handheld and arcade systems.

An Allwinner H700 quad-core processor, Mali-G31 MP2 graphics and 1GB of system memory power the Linux-based interface. Performance is strongest across 8-bit, 16-bit, arcade, Game Boy Advance and original PlayStation software, with selected Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and PSP titles also playable depending on the emulator and settings used.

Unlike many compact clamshell handhelds, the RG34XX SP includes two low-profile analogue sticks alongside its D-pad, four face buttons, menu controls and four shoulder buttons. Built-in vibration adds compatible force feedback without sacrificing the portable folding design.

Strong magnets keep the console securely closed, while a built-in Hall-switch sensor allows the system to enter sleep mode when the lid is shut. The folding design helps protect the display during storage and makes the RG34XX SP easy to carry without leaving its screen exposed.

Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 support compatible online functions, Bluetooth controllers and other firmware-dependent features. Compatible wired USB controllers and 2.4GHz wireless controllers using their own USB receiver can also be connected where supported, while HDMI output allows compatible games to be displayed on a television or monitor.

This Retrolize configuration includes a genuine 64GB SanDisk microSD card, full game artwork throughout, a protective carry case and a screen protector. Two microSD card slots provide further storage flexibility, with expansion supported up to 512GB.

The 3300mAh rechargeable battery provides approximately six hours of use depending on brightness, volume, wireless connectivity, emulator and system load. Charging is handled through USB-C using a compatible regulated 5V power source.

3:2 Display: The 3:2 screen is particularly well suited to Game Boy Advance software. Platforms using 4:3 or widescreen output may display with small borders or letterboxing.

No Touchscreen: The display is not touch-sensitive. Nintendo DS games that depend heavily on touchscreen input may be difficult or unsuitable to play.

Compact Analogue Sticks: The low-profile analogue sticks provide access to compatible 3D systems while preserving the compact clamshell design. Players wanting larger controls for extended 3D gaming may prefer a larger horizontal handheld.

Lid-Closing Sleep Mode: The Hall-switch sensor supports sleep when the lid is closed. Save progress before closing the console and shut it down fully before long-term storage or transport.

Charging Requirements: Charge from a compatible regulated 5V power source at up to 1.5A. USB-C to USB-C charging is supported when the power source provides a compatible 5V output.

Charging Damage: Do not use faulty, non-compliant or unsuitable chargers, cables or power supplies that force unsupported voltage, current or fast-charging modes. Damage caused by incompatible charging equipment is not covered by the Retrolize warranty.

HDMI Cable: HDMI output is supported, but an HDMI cable is not included.

Retrolize Anbernic Warranty

All Anbernic handheld consoles purchased from Retrolize are covered by a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware faults arising during normal use.

Each console includes a unique 7-digit warranty code, which must remain present and readable on the device for a warranty claim to be accepted. If the warranty code is missing, altered or unreadable, Retrolize may be unable to provide warranty support.

If the console develops a genuine hardware fault during the warranty period, Retrolize will inspect the device and, where appropriate, repair it, replace it or provide another suitable solution.

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, cracked screens, misuse, forced or damaged connections, normal cosmetic wear, expected battery-performance changes, corrupted storage caused by user modification, or problems resulting from user-made software, firmware or system changes.

Damage caused by an unsuitable charger, cable, power supply or adapter is not covered. This includes damage caused by excessive voltage or current, incompatible fast-charging modes, poor voltage regulation or operation outside the stated 5V/1.5A charging requirement.

To make a warranty claim, contact Retrolize with the order number and a clear description of the fault. Photographs or video may be requested to assist with diagnosis.

This warranty is provided in addition to the customer’s statutory rights and applies to products purchased directly from Retrolize or an official Retrolize partner. The separate 14-day returns policy continues to apply to eligible purchases.

Is The Anbernic RG34XX SP Ready To Play?

Why Is The 3:2 Screen Good For Game Boy Advance Games?

The original Game Boy Advance used a 3:2 display ratio. The RG34XX SP’s matching aspect ratio allows compatible Game Boy Advance software to make excellent use of the screen with minimal wasted space.

Does Closing The Lid Put The RG34XX SP To Sleep?

Yes. A built-in Hall-switch sensor supports sleep mode when the lid is closed. Save progress before closing the console and perform a complete shutdown before storing it for an extended period.

Does The Clamshell Protect The Screen?
