The Game Boy Color USB-C Charging Kit PRO is an all-in-one GBC power upgrade with USB-C charging, Li-ion battery support, 5V power conversion and an integrated speaker audio amplifier.

Designed for IPS screen builds, flash carts and modern Game Boy Color mods, it replaces multiple separate power and audio upgrades with one cleaner circuit. The board supports safe charge-and-play from v3.1 onwards, with charging and full battery LED indicators built in.

Compatible with Game Boy Color CGB-CPU-01 to CGB-CPU-06 boards. Original GBC screens are not supported. Li-ion battery, speaker, capacitors, tools and installation supplies are not included.

Critical Info

This kit is designed for IPS screens that work from 5V. The original Game Boy Color screen is not compatible.

Installation requires soldering, shell cutting and modding experience.

Li-ion battery, replacement speaker, capacitors, cutting tool, screwdrivers, soldering tools, flux and isopropyl alcohol are not included.

A new 8Ω 1W speaker is optional but recommended to reduce noise. New capacitors are also optional but recommended for cleaner audio and reliability.

CGB-CPU-05 and CGB-CPU-06 boards do not have the EM4 electronic component. One of the kit pads must be soldered to the correct alternative pad to detect headphone connection.

This compact upgrade combines USB-C charging, Li-ion battery charging, 5V power conversion and a speaker audio amplifier into one clean circuit.

Modern Game Boy Color upgrades such as IPS backlit screens and flash carts can demand more power than the original hardware was designed to handle. The Game Boy Color USB-C Charging PRO Mod helps solve this by adding a stable 5V DC-to-DC converter, rechargeable Li-ion battery support and protection against overvoltage and undervoltage.

The integrated audio amplifier improves speaker output, while built-in LED indicators show charging and full battery status near the USB-C port. An optional external LED board can also be installed to show play, charging and full battery status through the shell.
