This kit is designed for IPS screen builds that work from the 5V rail. The original Game Boy Pocket screen is not compatible.

The -19V rail is not provided by this kit, so the original contrast wheel will not function. This means GBP IPS screens that rely on the contrast wheel for brightness control, such as the FunnyPlaying GBP Retro Pixel IPS screen, will be stuck at one brightness level.

This board is recommended for IPS screens with touch-sensor or start and select brightness control instead.

A new 8Ω 1W speaker is optional but highly recommended to help avoid audio noise.

New capacitors are optional but recommended for cleaner, more reliable audio and power performance.

This kit is not suitable for Game Boy Light installations.

The integrated audio amplifier improves speaker output, making it a useful upgrade for restored and modified Game Boy Pocket consoles. Built-in LED indicators show charging and full battery status next to the USB-C port, while the optional external light board adds play, charging and full battery indicators for a cleaner finished build.

This PRO kit is designed for Game Boy Pocket IPS screen builds that work from the 5V rail. It is not compatible with the original Game Boy Pocket screen, as the stock display requires voltage this kit does not provide. It is also not recommended for IPS kits that rely on the original contrast wheel for brightness adjustment, as the -19V rail is not supplied.

Tested compatible third-party modules include FunnyPlaying Game Boy Pocket IPS Backlight and EZ-Flash Jr, but the FunnyPlaying IPS screen is not recommended due to brightness control limitations.
