Description
Description
Get a cleaner analogue picture from your Sega Mega Drive 1 or Genesis 1 with this Premium Fully Shielded On-Sync RGB SCART Cable.
The original Model 1 console provides native analogue RGB through its rear 8-pin DIN AV connection. This allows the cable to carry the red, green and blue picture channels separately instead of combining the entire image into a single composite-video signal.
The separated video channels provide cleaner colour boundaries, sharper edges and reduced colour interference compared with the consoleโs standard composite-video output.
Composite video is used as the synchronisation source, creating a broadly compatible RGBS signal for EuroSCART televisions and retro gaming video processors. This configuration is correctly described as sync-on-composite and should not be confused with dedicated composite sync or CSYNC.
The cable uses 24 AWG stranded-copper conductors surrounded by aluminium foil and tin-plated copper-mesh shielding. This layered construction helps reduce electrical interference and crosstalk between the RGB, sync and audio signals.
A built-in tension cord supports the internal conductors, while the PVC outer jacket and moulded connectors provide protection during normal use. An integrated ferrite core offers additional resistance to high-frequency interference.
Inside the SCART connector, an integrated PCB houses the required video components and creates a secure connection between the consoleโs 8-pin DIN output and the EuroSCART plug. Audio (mono) from the consoleโs rear AV connection is carried through the same SCART lead.
Connect the cable directly to a scart compatible television or pair it with the OSSC or GBSC Pro to convert the original analogue RGB signal for a modern HDMI display.
At approximately 1.3 metres long, the cable provides practical placement between the console and connected equipment without leaving excessive cable behind the television.

Critical Info
Critical Info
EuroSCART Connection: Designed for European SCART equipment and not Japanese JP21 connections.
Model 1 Cable: Designed for consoles using the original 8-pin DIN AV connection.
Audio From The Rear AV Port: Carries the consoleโs rear AV audio output through SCART. On Model 1 consoles this is mono; stereo remains available separately from the front headphone socket.
Sync-On-Composite: Uses composite video as the synchronisation source for the RGB signal.
