Premium Sega Dreamcast RGB SCART Cable – Fully Shielded TTL CSYNC

This Sega Dreamcast RGB SCART cable is designed for PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J Dreamcast consoles, providing clean analogue RGBS video through a fully shielded EuroSCART connection with dedicated CSYNC.

The Dreamcast outputs separate red, green and blue video channels through its AV connection, allowing compatible displays and video processors to receive a true analogue RGB signal rather than relying on composite video for the picture. This provides sharper edges, cleaner colour separation and reduced colour interference compared with the console's standard composite-video output.

Unlike CVBS Sync cables that use composite video as the synchronisation source, this cable uses the Dreamcast's dedicated composite-sync / CSYNC signal. This provides the timing information required by compatible RGBS equipment without using composite video as the sync carrier, helping maintain a clean and stable RGB connection.

Fully shielded construction helps protect the RGB, sync and audio signals from electrical interference and crosstalk. The cable uses 24 AWG stranded-copper conductors, aluminium foil shielding and tin-plated copper-mesh shielding, together with an integrated ferrite core to help suppress high-frequency interference.

An internal PCB within the SCART connector houses the required video components and signal conditioning, providing a secure connection between the Dreamcast AV output and 21-pin EuroSCART plug. Stereo analogue audio is carried alongside the RGB video through the same cable.

This cable supports the Dreamcast's 15kHz standard-definition RGB video modes, including game-dependent 240p and 480i output on NTSC systems and 288p and 576i output on PAL systems. It does not provide the Dreamcast's 31kHz 480p VGA output.

Most Dreamcast games support 15kHz RGB, although compatibility can vary between individual PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases. Games that require VGA or do not support standard RGB output may display a warning or blank screen when used in RGB mode.

The cable can be connected directly to a compatible RGB SCART television or CRT. For modern displays it can also be paired with the OSSC or GBSC Pro to convert the original Dreamcast RGB signal for HDMI output.

At approximately 1.3 metres long, the cable provides practical positioning between the Dreamcast and connected television, CRT or video processor without excessive cable length.

This Premium Sega Dreamcast RGB SCART Cable is covered by a 12-month limited Retrolize warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware faults arising during normal use.

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, crushed or cut cabling, bent connector pins, excessive pulling, damaged strain relief, unauthorised modification or faults caused by incompatible equipment.

Display incompatibility, unsupported video modes, individual game limitations, incorrect scaler settings, JP21 equipment or devices that do not accept 15kHz RGBS are not considered product faults.
